5K Success!

Thank you everyone who came out and made our first annual Walk In Love 5K a huge success!

A huge thank you to Rachael and her family for making and selling some beautiful fabric flowers! They made $140 to go towards our next sewing machine!

All the donations will go towards improving the lives of vulnerable families and children in Tanzania. Our next project: Chicken coups!

Special thank you to Samantha Levi for taking some great photographs at the WIL 5K!

A mother and daughter in need (Nuru and Naomi)

Meet Nuru Lice and her family of 6! Nuru and her daughter Naomi run a very modest kitenge business just outside of their home. This picture is of Nuru and 4 of her children. Her second youngest boy, Joshua, was being very shy and did not wa
nt to be in the photo. The photo looks into their one bedroom home that is made of mud. This is all they have, there is not another door leading to another bedroom, bathroom or kitchen. This is home to 6 people. Nuru and Naomi are both attending my business classes in the hopes that we can help Nuru stock her kitenge business and we can buy a sewing machine for Naomi, who has been to tailoring school. They are such sweet family and they have had a very hard time after the father passed away. None of the children are in school.

It will cost a total of $300 dollars to get Nuru's business up and running and buy a sewing machine for Naomi. If you would like to contribute to Nuru and Naomi's future business please use the donate button on our webpage and specify that you want it to go towards Nuru and Naomi.
